long story but in the end i need to know how to obtain pretty cheap real-legal advise (live in texas). my parents took my old credit cards and racked them up and didn’t pay and now i’m being hounded by creditors and my credit, which was perfect, is horrible now. parents are VERY poor already with 6 siblings still living with them and i don’t want anything bad to happen to the kids because of my parents’ stupid decisions. any ideas? i dont think suing would be the best idea because i’d never get the money since they don’t have any.

One tenant disappear without paying and living behind some belongings. A new tenant uses the identity of the past tenant to get cable service.
The new tenant get evicted and on the mail, is a bill for the first tenant of 742.00 (including the value of cable box 500.00) The second tenant used and pay the bills on the first tenants name, except in the last few months. I believe the first tenant does not know that. Can I make a police report on that or I will get in trouble since the house is mine and I just find out it now?

im just not sure if i should be concerned about leaving my social security number on a bunch of applications of people i don’t even know and im just wondering if anything bad could happen by doing this. You just don’t know how secure people are with other peoples confidential information and how they dispose it, what you guys think?

I have asked this girl nicely about 4 times to delete my picture. But she denies that it’s mine. When it really is.
How do I report her for identity theft?

I am debating whether to use this service or not. I know that no service can afford to offer absolute protection but would appreciate if I could get first person accounts. Please, reply only if you are currently enrolled or have been enrolled in the past or know someone who is/was enrolled. I have done extensive research on this company but first hand information is always more insightful. Thanks again.

My sister’s ex-husband claimed her on her taxes this year without her knowledge. They were divorced in November but had not been living together since March of ‘07. He receives disability but she had w-2’s to file. When she did her taxes the IRS rejected them because someone had already used her social security number. What are the fine’s or penalties for something like this? She is filing a police report and sending all her paperwork to the IRS.
Sorry, I mean he claimed her on his taxes.

We received a call from a debt consolidation company claiming that an account and loan had been applied for in my name. We said no, and they helped me put a freeze on my credit. No debt was accrued on this account, but that was obviously the intent. I’m safe, but my question is if this is still an offense that can be prosecuted? I pretty much know who is doing it too. Considering nothing was borrowed against my name, what basis do I have to pursue this individual for a crime?

Someone has taken and gotten numerous traffic tickets in my name and I am currently getting them resolved. I need to know how to prevent this in the future. I already contacted the prosecutor’s office and they stated that it was a civil matter. I can’t prove that she is doing it. I just can prove that it isn’t me. Please help me.
