No I’m not using someone elses identity
it was MY identity that was taken. Can I
ask the DA to put my case in the hands
of a different judge because the judge
seems to be bias.

I know the name of the person they took it from but nothing else about that person. I know the accounts they opened but the companies won’t release them. What else can I do? I feel guilty for knowing this.

My phone plan was tampered with, my mail was forwarded to a residence that is not mine, and I’m afraid it will get worse from here. I told the police what happened and I told Victims Services also. But no one will give me leads as to how to proceed with changing my social security number. Does anyone out there have any advice for me?

I went to file my income tax at a local branch in my home town, I had some unfinished business to take care of there and was told that the branch was robbed of all of it’s computers over the weekend. Of course all of my personal information is in their computers! What do I do now?

I have heard that there is a way to make it harder for credit cards to be opened in my name by adding a pin or something to my ssn. My mom has stolen my brother’s identity but he didnt press charges and now I am affraid that it will happen to me.. Is there something I can do to help prevent this?? Please help!

that my refund was kept from me. I’ve faxed a copy of my I.D., Social security card, police report and a 14039 form twice. The results of the investigation that the Identity theft department was conducting was turned down. They said that it was not sufficient for them to change there determination. So please advise me of the next steps. Thanks alot.

What have states done to reduce the growing crime of identity theft?

A friend of mine had her name used to open up a Yahoo account. Then the person who opened that account tried to ruin her character with a volunteer organization by sending rude emails with her name on them.

Yahoo has shut the account down, after a lot of work and her faxing her ID and stuff to them. They will not give her any information on WHO set up that account.

What action can she take? She works for this non-profit organization and this has brought her character into question……

i knew of someone from e-bay who is using a fake and random name. at one point he was issued a check from a US buyer ordered to his falsified/fake/random name…
just wondering if he is able to en-cash this to his local country even if the name is non-existent???
is this possible???

My purchase at a local store was oddly denied so we went home and called our bank. It seems that someone tried to purchase 0 dollars at Mambo Cafe in Mexico!! Luckily my bank denied the transaction due to suspected fraud. How does this happen if my card wasn’t stolen nor my account number compromised?

when i was 19 my step dad put a house lease in my name and had me sign contracts (even though i was unemployed and couldnt qualify on income) because his credit is/was terrible. i moved out of state and when i came back to get an apt on my own which i was declined due to the fact that he had been evicted and had put bills/utilities in my name. he refuses to pay these debts back and my credit is suffering…what can i do?

I’m pretty sure that my identity has been stolen.I checked my bank online it said that someone had logged onto to it 3 hours earlier.I also found documents that had all my personal information including addresses,phone numbers and account numbers together on my computer.They weren’t there a couple days ago.
I’ve already changed my passwords for everything online,i’ve notified the three main credit agencies and i am changing my banking accounts in the morning.

Should this be enough to prevent whoever did it from making any purchases or new accounts.
I’m also using a different computer to change everything

Okayy My mom has Dsl On AT&T she has our phone and internet on it well we use to live next door and we moved next door plz dont ask, And we swiched our phone my mom has great credit!!

My aunt moved next door shes doesnt have papers and we do well she has bad credit she called and ssaid she wa my mom and made a line up well she always got our mail today my mom got it and she found a letter.
It said she owes ,000 in another phone line that was never mad they gave her the number and it was my aunts or was. What can my mom do???
And i know if she calls the number what will they do?
PLZ help ASAP cause my mom is giving them till friday to pay and if they dont shes calling the cops can she do that???

We own a little resturant and it was broken into last night. A couple hundred dollars was stolen, but what I am worry about is that we have alot of bank statements and resturant information that we have at the resturant. All of these information was on the ground and all over the place when we got to the resturant in this morning. Should we worry about identity theft because there was alot of these letters and I dont even know if some was even taken. How do should we fix this if our identity in exposed?

My boyfriends step mother ordered a whole bunch of things in his name. Magazines, collectables, and things online. We aren’t in contact with her and we live 3 states away from her. She opened a whole bunch of diffecet acconts in his name and I just called all of the places she ordered from to cancel them. Now I am wondering how to go about filing for fraud or identity theft. If someone has been through this before and knows the person who is doing it or you know how to go about filing for it. Please!!

Do you think that with all the identity theft that is taking place that this is making the way for the mark of the beast? How many of you would be comfortable with having a mark or chip put on/in you that could be scanned, instead of a credit/debit card? Thank you all for taking the time to answer.

i ask because i lost my wallet at the airport. I called lost and found but they were unable to find it.

It had my drivers license, credit and debit card, and school i.d.

Does anyone else think it would be a good idea to make identity theft a capital offense? Sentence a few people to death by lethal injection for using someone elses identity and the problem should taper off quite a bit.

for all offenses?…. nah that is a bit extreme, but I would support it for child molestation, any violent crime (armed robbery, assault and battery, assault with a deadly weapon, etc.), aggrivated sexual assault, identity theft, …. probably many others as well.
