So this person I work with keeps on bragging on how she told her auto insurance company she drives her car for 7500 miles per year, but she usually goes 8000! She also says she told them it’s all for personal use, but I don’t buy it.
It’s not fair. Us honest drivers have to pay more because scum like her lie to the insurance companies.
Is there a way to report this? Or should I wait for karma to bite her? Insurance companies can find out if she is lying…right?

I’m having a hard time dealing with my bank disputing a charge made to my credit card, (which is quite different than my dealings with them in the old days). I’m wondering if I switch banks/cards if I’d have better luck in the future if I have to dispute something. Or are the rules & standards all the same no matter what bank card I get? Is it the bank that resolves disputes, or is it Visa?

got into a car accident. the guy hit my driver side rear tire, cracked the base above the wheel and scraped up both driver side doors. roughly could have been at most 00. i have pics from the scene. body shop takes it on sept. 20. insurance company looks at it, claims 7000 in damages. took pics. i had the police at the scene to take statement. i made a recorded statement to insurance co. my story doesnt match damages claimed. insurance paid body shop 7 g’s. they claim every time i call them that the car isnt ready b/c parts are on back order. nov 18th they say i can pick up the car at 7pm. at 7:19 i walked into body shop – in wide open space they are painting my whole car. no filter. they tell me to pick the car up tomorrow at 8pm (in the dark). next day, paint is chipping off my handle and gas tank. took it to a body shop for second opinion. was told a bunch of parts to my car have been filled with "mud" – some bonding. no parts were replaced. front and back bumper effed with. insurance co. said i have two options, either take it back to original shop and demand it fixed or sue them. they claim they already paid and have no more to do with the situation because it wasnt a body shop on their list. i was told it was. do i have a case? its clearly insurance fraud right? i mean why make a statement if they just disregard and proceed. no way was it 7000 worth. please someone who knows what they are talking about respond. thanks.

There’s someone I know that was in a car accident a few months back, He was stating the other day that he was frauding the insurance co cuz he claimed that he hurt his back and said that he hopes that the claim hurries and gets settled cuz hes worried that they will find out that he had lied about his claim and they will get him for insurance fraud. Apparently his claim hasn’t been settled yet cuz he wants one amount and the insurance company wants to give him a lower amount. How can i go about finding out which insurance co that he is going against? This man is very ruthless, he really does deserve to be reported.

I know someone who is currently in the process of a lawsuit and is faking the whole thing. This person is selling their prescription drugs, being active in sports but says that they have a serious injury that prevents them from being able to work, or even move a certain part of their body. Who do I contact or call to report their wrongdoings? I want to do it anonymously…Thanks

A friend of mine’s brother committed insurance fraud and I am very disturbed by this. He car had not been running so he got full coverage on it and then had someone push his car (with theirs) into a tree. He says it is not a big deal and he is only getting like 00.00 so if he was ever caught he would not really be sentenced. Does anyone know what the sentence would be in Michigan for this? Also wouldnt his friend who helped him be in trouble also???
what I have is not hearsay…. I know it is what happened… they have told several ppl this is what happened, and he changed his insurance from plpd to full coverage a week before he did this…..

popped out and hit our neighbors (who we cant stand but thats another story) car. We told them and made a claim with our homeowners insurance (they are renters). So the neighbor told us she wasnt even going to worry about it cause it was a little dent. Well a week later we get a letter saying that they have mailed the neighbors a check for 746.00 for the estimate. My questions are:
Is there a time limit when they need to get it fixed
Can they just take the money and not worry about getting it fixed.
Should I tell the insurance company they havent even gotten it fixed, its been 3 weeks. I dont think they will get if fixed, they are scumbags and freeloaders. But is that insurance fraud? The got a brand new truck a few months ago because someone "hit them" I think it was intentional also, these people are shady
thanks

I went to a plastic surgeon for a cosmetic procedure. She somehow convinced me that this is covered by my health insurance (private) because it is an airway obstruction. The doctor ended up doing unnecessary work which has results in permanent pain and damage. She billed insurance about ,000 in addition to what I paid her. I’ve heard she does this to others. I called the insurance company and they said there is nothing they can do about it. Huh? Any ideas on how I can report this fraud and to whom?

Is it car insurance fraud if I was to buy a car but ask my dad to get the insurance and say that he will be driving the car? Just so that the car is drivable. I mean I am always driving my parents cars anyways, and that is not illegal. Or would a better idea be that he can mention me as other drivers of the car? and if so would that affect the premium?

Can the owner of a insurance agency tell his employes how to fill out the mitigation on an insurance quote to get the lowest premiums knowning that the mitigations are false? Also the same company owner is paying the employes commission only and non of the workers are licenced 440 or 220 agents but they are still binding and writing policies arent they suppose to be on an hourly or salary pay? How can I report him? I have questioned him about the falsifying mitigations and he told me that "thats not my problem, thats the inspectors problem because he signs off on the inspections" But that led me to believe that the owner of yhe insurance company knows what going on…what can i do to put a stop to to his posible fraud??

I am trying to get a new car insurance with progressive. They asked me if I had any citations recently (last 3 yrs) and I said no which is not true becuase I just got a citation. My citation was for going 10 miles over the limit. They did ask me for all of my info such as ssn and driver lic #. I am assuming they checked out my records. They gave me a very low quote considering my driving history.
Is it car insurance fraud if I didn’t tell them about my citations?
Could I be dropped?
Please advice.

I’m a law student watching Coronation Street – Obviously I know that someone is guilty of fraud if they claim someone’s life insurance knowing that the person just faked their own death (e.g. to escape debts).
I also know that insurance contracts under English law are contracts of ‘the utmost good faith’ – i.e. there is a duty to fully disclose all information.
I was wondering if a claim for life insurance would be technically fraudulent if the person whose insurance it was was ACTUALLY dead (unbeknown to the person claiming the insurance) – i.e. they ran away (faked their death) and then actually died.
Or perhaps because of the doctrine of utmost good faith it would still be fraudulent (attempt to deceive – saying something you BELIEVE to be false)
Any insight would be great!

a medical facility charged 00 in fraudulent charges to my insurance company..they are definately fraud as they charged for procedures not done/not needed..i have confirmed with another professional that the ‘care’ was inappropriate..
i informed my insurance company..but they don’t care…i guess its cheaper to pay it than to fight it..
the only thing is..it will cause my premium rates to go up..since i pay out of pocket.
is there anything i can do..
my out of pocket expense is 0..i do plan to fight that

I work in a doctors office, and when patients do not show up in the office for their appointment, the doctor still bills out the insurance as if they came. I mean he goes as far as posting specifics about what he did in the appointment. I don’t think he can do this, can he?
Thank you, do I need proof? is it a HIPAA Violation to give specific dates and names to the Investigators?

Hi All,
I went to a dental office a week ago and I asked them whether they were a participating provider, and they told me they were. Yesterday I got a bill in the mail from the dental insurance saying that I have to pay off the difference because the dental office is not a participating provider. I called the dental office again and without introducing myself I asked them if they were a participating provider under this plan and AGAIN they said yes. Then I told them all this what happened. This counts as insurance fraud…the difference I have to pay is (not a lot, but still enough money to make me bite off my nails.) Then they told me that the secretary had made a mistake, and they’re not a participating provider BUT I still have to pay the difference. How do I go about suing them or making them pay this money that I shouldn’t have been charged for? Please help. I’d greatly appreciate it.

I had a very bad experience at my last dentist’s office and walked out. The appointment was for a routine cleaning and exam. The dental hygienist was very rough and rude to me so I asked to see my dentist. They told me she was on vacation! I didn’t understand why they had me come in when my doctor was out.
Now, a year later, I have come to learn that my former dentist’s office billed my insurance. I started looking into it when my current dentist’s office sent me a bill for my last exam because I exceeded the number of cleanings covered by my insurance.
I just sent in an appeals letter to my insurance company stating that the exam and cleaning did not take place a year ago. One of my friends told me the dentist’s office is committing insurance fraud. I’m not looking to pursue legal action until I hear back from my insurance company. Until then, can I report it to an agency or organization, such as the Better Business Bureau? What are the possible outcomes?
Just to clarify…
I DID NOT continue the cleaning because the hygienist was very rough and I DID NOT get the exam because my dentist was out of the office.
The dentist IS licensed.

I already have two degrees in business areas. But not in insurance or criminal justice. Only want the minimum courses required.
Thank you mbrcatz. What you don’t realize is that my degrees are over 40 yrs old. That I’ve retired twice, and then taken Social Security. I’m now looking for something to do.

My fiance is being charged with felony unemployment insurance fraud. Does anybody know what he could face as a result of this? He just got the thing for the warrant in the mail yesterday and he’s going to go to court tomorrow but what is going to happen? Apparently he missed a court date for it that he didn’t know about.
What are the penalities for unemployment insurance fraud in nebraska? I’ve tried looking it up and I can’t find anything!
Is the jail gonig to be mandatory or is it something he might just get fined for? When he goes tomorrow to go talk to the judge and of course pleads not guilty will he get to go home until his next court date or will they keep him?
