Insurance fraud?
I am a new life insurance agent. My roomate, who I worked for before I switched jobs, is a carpenter. One of his customers, who is a lawyer, asked him to write an estimate for removal of a fallen tree and repair of a fence it fell on. The lawyer then told my roommate and I he wanted the estimate to say 00 for his insurance, but he would only pay us 0 to do the work, and he would pocket the rest. Since this is obviously insurance fraud, we declined the job. The lawyer has since been persistant in calling both my roommate and me, saying he needs the estimate anyway, even if we didn’t do the work. My insurance license is in a different state than this lawyer lives, (we live on the border between two states) but I know he is trying to commit fraud. Should I report him? I have knowldge that he is commiting fraud?

Ask the lawyer to send you an email outlining the specific of what he wants. After you get the letter, file a complaint with his insurance company the state Bar for his unethical and maybe illegal act.
