How does a consumer report a scam car repair center for committing fraud by rigging a smog test to fail?

A local repair shop in California tried to hook me for expensive unnecessary diagnostics and repairs after "failing" me for a smog test. After doing some searching online, I found a legit repair shop and they did not find anything wrong with the car. The employee told me some repair shops lure consumers with cheap […]

Question about McCain’s tax plan?

Now I have heard both and both have their pros and both have cons but I am asking this about McCain’s plan right now. He wants tax cuts for everyone including large business in order to spur job creation, investment, etc. *which makes a lot of sense* My question though is why we should trust […]

Are legal fees related to a divorce the biggest consumer rip-off in the USA?

It seems as if NY, and other states, have determined that the desire to leave a bad marriage should be likened to a crime worthy of legal process that requires more legal time and fees –and in many cases punishment– than murder. Consumers have no recourse at all. NY’s attorney general refuses to investigate the […]

Do you Republicans believe in their supply side fairy tales based on FAITH alone?

I always hear conservatives claiming that if you cut taxes (mostly for the rich), cut programs for the poor (job training, student grants, etc), and deregulate, the economy will grow fastest. On the other hand, they say that if you shift taxes to the wealthy, create ladders to help people work their way up, and […]

Under current laws, exactly WHO is responsible for Internet identity theft?

I need to know exactly who is responsible for Internet identity theft. Is it the consumers, the credit card companies and credit bureaus, or the government for poor privacy laws and light punishments for identity thieves? I’m a little confused on this subject. I really need to know. Also, if you can, provide me with […]

Credit Card Fraud, Company Policies – Prevention and Prosecution?

It seems credit card companies could take more preventative measures in reducing fraudulent use of cards. Additionally, they take little to no action if a card is reported lost or stolen and cooperation with law enforcement is comical. Is there a business or financial reason for this, and if so, why? Some ideas would be […]
