I receive pregnancy medicaid and I know once the baby is born I am obligated to cooperate with the state in order to establish child support payments.
If I say I don’t know who the father is I lose my benefits and I DO know who the father is, as does my Dr…also its on my medical paperwork and he will be present at the birth so his name will appear on the birth certificate (which Medicaid wants a copy of) so there is no way to lie to them and if I’m caught I/l be charged with Medicaid fraud and won’t ever be eligable for benefits again.
But here’s the thing…The baby’s father and I are still together. He is unemployed and cannot find work I know they will still establish child support payment but he won’t be able to pay it so that puts us in a pickle. He will have back child support payments and that will make it impossible to him to find work in Law Enforcement (he just got out of Police Training in July).
So I can’t lie to Medicaid and My bf can’t pay child support. Is there anything I can do?

If it would be easier you can email me at barnab1990@gmail.com
Also don’t say he should just get a job because he has been trying. Originally he was fine with paying child support because he thought he would’ve gotten hired SOMEWHERE by now but he has tried everywhere, not just law enforcement positions, and gotten no where.
So if you’re going to say that just don’t bother to answer. I need REAL help…
I live in Florida.
And NO WAY. Im not getting married. Not at 19 and not just because I’m having a baby with him. lol. We are NOT ready for that yet.

Also, do you think if the state is the one trying to establish the Child Support that they will allow me to set up informal payments?

Possible credit card fraud?

My best friend might be in some trouble and we’re trying to figure this out.
Her employer issued her an Amex corporate card. Although it was against company policy to use the card for personal reasons periodically she did. She had all the intentions to pay it back since she wasn’t trying to loose her job over it. She had a personal balance on the card of 1K when suddenly she got laid off. She stopped paying on the card and since she was now broke she she took out cash from the Amex and maxed it out at 6K. Three weeks later she received a visa corporate card in the mail. Apparently her employer switched credit card companies and for whatever reason they sent her one too although she no longer worked there. Desparately, she used that card to pay her rent and utilies several months out and she figured in time she’d work out a repayment deal with the credit card companies once she was back working or something. She ran up 11k dollars on the visa card. Her ex-employer is now investigating the matter. Is this credit card fraud? Is the employer liable? Can the employer press charges – If so what? What penalties could she be facing – jail, probation, etc? The cards were in her name but she did know that company policy was to not use the cards for personal reason. She has an irrelevant misdeamor from 1996. Other than that she’s clean. She lives in IL. Serious answers ONLY please. Thank you.

Can I be convicted of welfare fraud?

I got pregnant by a guy that I didn’t know, at the time, had entered the country illegally. We lived together for awhile, and I recieved Medicaid for myself and my son (I had never used my own). At the time of application, I had provided all income for our whole household, even though my boyfriend did not qualify, based on legal status, to recieve any benefit. He has since then moved out. He is still on my case, as I do not want to seek child support and risk his deportation. Regardless of his status as illegal, he is a very good father who provides for his child and helps pay my bills while I am in school full time. However, I just recieved a phone call from the Department of Jobs and Family Services that he has unreported income. I was surprised because he has always brought his pay stubs to me to turn in to them so that my son may continue to have medical coverage while I am a student. Apparently he has another job that I was unaware of, and with that additional income, pushes us way over the guidelines. Because my name is on the account, they want to press charges. He has told me that he will pay whatever benefits back that they claim I have used, but I am confused in the whole situation. The woman that I spoke with said it was very easy to discover that he had additional income, and apparently has had it for quite some time. I don’t understand why they would wait so long to prosecute me when they could have just denied my application long ago.
Please don’t make this an immigration debate as his case is not the typical running across the border. Although we are not together, we still have an immigration lawyer who has been working with us to get him legal status (he was basically smuggled into this country by friends of family at a very young age). My caseworker has told me by suing for child support I would be free and clear of charges, however our immigration lawyer has stated that most likely this would lead in the deportation of my son’s father. I don’t even know if they will press charges if all is paid back, and I am not even sure of the amount, because I only recieved medical for my son.

My husband was taken to a hospital 33 miles from emergency call by ground ambulance and charged 850.00. He was transferred by air 77 miles to Vegas by air ambulance for kidney stone. I am sure this was a case of fraud he was traveling and also on the job and insured, I am sure if he had no insurance he would have been treated and released like he was in Vegas. Kidney stones are com man and he had already traveled 33 miles he was not going to have a heart transplant. If so i would be happy to pay a million i smell a rat medical billing fraud not old news when it comes to air ambulance this should have been approved. He is also from Iran he would have never agreed to go if he was informed about cost. I am sure the hospital could have handled his diagnose. He was in area that had several options in nye county my Research show questionable fraud and will not pay remainder of bill for air ambulance to see insurance candy my husband was working he trains drivers for swift transportation, He was taken Advantage of and pays more than his share in taxes. He should not pick up the tab for ambulance to make a buck to recoup for uninsured patients that they had to medical evacuate. We are already paying a Fortune in insurance. This is discrimination.

White collar criminals as in those who specialize in fraud, robbing the country of millions of tax-dollars, etc. They are basically seen as the man who ran the system by the inmates and thus as revenge for locking them up. A friend in my statistics class told me, does it hold any truth? As I am entering a job (banking) which has the highest recorded white-collar crime of all occupations.

My ex told me that this year I can claim my daughter on my taxes bc he hasn’t paid me any child support. So I filed my taxes and he just called me today to let me know that he called the IRS to let them know that I only had 49% custody and he told me that now i’m going to be arrested for fraud and it was all his girlfriends scam to get rid of me. So does anyone know waht happens now? I haven’t recieved a call from the IRS.
I also have legal custody but no legal agreement saying that I can claim her. With the child support I am only supposed to get a percent of it and the rest goes to the welfare office but for now he is just a ghost to them bc they can’t find any info on him. So I can’t really figure out why he is going to file his taxes if he hasn’t had a job or an adress just avoid paying child support
I also have legal custody and split physical custody but no legal agreement saying that I can claim her. With the child support I am only supposed to get a percent of it and the rest goes to the welfare office but for now he is just a ghost to them bc they can’t find any info on him. A close relative of mine went on short-term disability leave back in September right before having early-stage breast cancer surgery and has been receiving short-term disability payments from her employer’s insurance company ever since. Following surgery and subsequent radiation (she didn’t need chemo), more and more "stuff" started appearing at her house that she’d been buying with the insurance money–new clothes, a new sofa, she’s talking about getting a treadmill, etc.–and spending hours online looking up genealogy-related stuff, which is a big hobby of hers. She’s also taken a number of trips to see relatives around the state and has gone with them on hobby-oriented excursions for several days at a time (some of the relatives are self-employed while others are retired) and apparently having a grand old time. Meanwhile she’s had no medical treatments in nearly two months–she finished radiation in January–but she says she still doesn’t feel well enough to go back to work, and oh yeah, she also mentioned out loud on at least one occasion that she’s making more money from short-term disability than she does from her job. But she feels really lousy and can’t go back to work because she’s not ready, yadda yadda yadda, but you wouldn’t know it from the way she’s been acting and the way she’s been spending money on things she doesn’t need to live.

I’m waiting to hear back from her insurance company on an anonymous call I placed to their fraud hotline, but it got me to wondering…I and many other relatives are seeing her do all of these things, but she’s apparently still giving her doctor this line that she’s not ready to go back to work, etc., and besides the fact that she’s stealing from the system, it’s really creating major tensions within the family. So what I’m asking is, once I give the insurance company the details of what I know and what I’ve observed, how can it be proven that she’s milking the system and what can be done to stop her? In the back of my mind I’m thinking it could even get her arrested if this sort of fraud is deemed serious enough, but not having dealt with anything like this before, I’m not sure how this plays out. Anyone have any insight on the process in reporting insurance/disability fraud and how insurance investigators go about proving something like this? I realize people can’t give legal advice on here, but I’m just trying to understand how the system works and anything else that might be a consideration.

What is your opinion on child support?

I have 1 daughter from a previous relationship. She lives with me and visits her dad when ever she doesn’t have school or other plans. I do not ask for child support or receive it, I personally feel that the entire domestics systems is jacked up. I struggle from time to time so its not like i am rich and don’t need the help, I just feel it is more important for her to have a good relationship with her father than to let money come into the middle of things as it tends to do in almost all child support cases.

My fiance, who I share 1 daughter with, has 4 kids to prior relationships. His oldest 2, were previously on a support order through the courts for 179 a week. Now things are being dealt with outsided of the courts and their mother has said that she really only needs 65 a week so that is what we send her faithfully every week. The 3rd childs case is through the courts, his mother recieves 140 $ a week. She also makes over 50,000 a year and gets 150 a week for support of her other child. His 4th childs mother had chose not to turn in the acknowledgement of paternity papers in the hospitals, which he signed, so that she could receive more welfare…… due to that, she knows if she tries to go throught the courts she is up for welfare fraud and so she gets sent 30 a week in the mail every week.

Even though I do not agree with the support thing in the first place, I do think that 65 a week for 2 and 30 a week for the one is sufficient. (None of the kids need child care, so no expense there) On the 2nd case I think it is outrageous! When doing the calculators online he should have been order between 60 and 70 a week at the most. I also printed out the guidlines through the state support laws. We are in the process of modification but it seems like the people in those offices could give a crap less about the mans side of it, custodial parent or not! A friend of mine tried to get support for the child he has custody of and they said the mom didn’t make enough! No job search nothing, I remember hours of job searches and going into the support office and giving them more money so that my fiance wouldnt go to jail so that his support orders were fullfilled, didn’t matter that a person can’t live off 50 a week but hey the women had their money. To me it all seems 1 sided, anyone else?
Clearly some cannot read, there are 3 cases, not 4. Meaning 3 mothers not 4 and who are you to judge someone by previous relationships. Just because you may not have had a child with someone does not mean that you haven’t had a failed relationship. Things happen and I must say he is an excellent father and is there for and provides for all of his children and treats my daughter like his own. He shells out support with out a complaint, even though 2 of the children were never blood tested and both moms said they cheated and thats why the relationships ended. Hes buys gifts for birthdays and holidays and plane tickets for each child for 2 visits each year the tickets per year are about 2,000$. While continuing to pay supports while his children are here he provides everything necesary along with extras without a thought to what he himself may have. He is far from a bad father and no 1 can ever seriously say that knowing him. This is not about that, just a question on support!
Oh, and neither of my daughters dads are deadbeats. As I said, my oldest sees her father very often and is very involved in her life. Any activity she is involved in we are all there to support her and completely split the cost. Maybe some people just need to learn to grow up and stop feeling the need to judge people! The past is the past and whats now is now. Gosh 1 simple question and I get judged on my relationships, my kids fathers and still very few got the point and answered the question. Thanks to those who did!
dmg should that happen, I will not find myself in the courts because obviously I choose to take care of the child I chose to have and will do the same with any children I have. Rather than be a hypocrite and use a system that I have never agreed with since I was a child I will be a big girl and take care of mine and their daddy’s will be there for them unlike those who have been pushed away by the money greedy mother. Not all men are pushed away, some have custody and some are "deadbeats".

I am a merchant account ISO. This is the 3rd time that this guy changed the signer, Tax ID and Address, and applied for a merchant account. When I found out that he was behind the business, it was too late. There had been excessive chargebacks. What he always does is that he charges customer’s credit cards and never ships products (ships some). When cardholders start disputing on the charges, he closes his bankaccount and processores have to cover the losses. It is very difficult to prove that he does it on purpose. He may have an excuse that his business went bad unexpectedly. He ships products internationally. His customers are all in his native country.(which is mine too) They can’t take any legal action since he is here. I found an online rip off report site over there. I have contacted Risk/Collection Dept. at processores since I found out that he (on Match List) is involved with the account. They are just interested in collecting his dept on his previous accounts( which is their job to do I guess) not stopping his from continuously doing it and creating more victems and causing more losses in the future. I want a criminal justice as credit fraud but I don’t know where I can get an advice. If you know any information about this kind of sencitive subject, please help me. Thank you for spending your time to read my long story.

How to report a phishing scam over Facebook?

Message over Facebook came to me, supposedly from one of my known friends/contacts, advising of a free iPhone 4 to test market, along with a job paying 0 per day. Message contains a link to a web page that asks for name, email, age, and city, but then links to defunct website.

How to report phishing / identity theft scam that was using my friend’s Facebook account?

My step-brother borrowed several thousand dollars from me after he was hurt at work and lost his job and claimed to have a law suit pending against the company. He didn’t have a law suit though and now wants to make small payments every month instead of the lump sum he wrote down that he would pay back to me. I trusted him since we were family, it was a big mistake.

I know there is never a guarantee that a court case will be decided in your favor. I am mostly feeling betrayed that there never was a case. I want to be sure I can get my money back and am not sure what kind of lawyer to approach with this or what kind of case it would be. I don’t want to just take his word that he will eventually pay me back, he already lied to me once.

Is it even worth getting a lawyer for this? Is it considered fraud by him? This is in NY, if that matters at all.
He told me that he was hurt at work, the company said it didn’t happen there and they weren’t paying workmens comp and fired him. So he said he was suing them for the lost pay/comp.

My friend had decided to do daycare for my son, for before and after school. My son is in Kindergarten. According to the Child Care Subsidy rates in British Columbia, the rate for my son would be 0, for before and after school care, so that I can go to work. My friend is charging me 0 a month, for the child care for my son. Would Child Care subsidy see that and make adjustments or would they see her as a fraud? My friend is on welfare and she has 3 kids. One is 16, she quit her job a few weeks ago which lasted a week. My friend has a live in b/f. He wants to work, but she isn’t letting him work. My friend just wants to be on Welfare, she had been since the 3 years I have known her…I am going to find a new daycare for November 1st, 2007. The other daycare provider will charge what the subsidy rate will be which is 0 a month. I am still waiting for the authorization number for my friend on Welfare.
She would be a non-licenced daycare. She is only taking care of my son. I personally don’t think we will be friends too much longer. There is a lot of issues surrounding that whole family/friend relationship dynamic. Her b/f wants to work, but she won’t let him work, because she is afraid that he will take off, and leave her.
This is in my friend’s home. I have known her for 3 years. I don’t consider her a good friend now, because she is ripping me off. She knows that it takes 4 hours of my pay, just to pay her for that day. She is asking for .50 a day. I would never charge her that much. I would go by the book of rates for subsidy, if I ever had to take care of her 2 kids. I have had a falling out with her for 8 months and it didn’t bother me too much. I actually enjoyed not being around her, at that time. They all mooch off people, the gov’t, family, and friends. I just wonder how the Subsidy would look at it. I fall below the income bracket, I think to even pay for any of the parent portion. I don’t know yet though. I am saying that she is wanting 0 a month, because that would be her sole income next to child tax credit from the Federal Canadian Gov’t.

Last Wednesday when I was going through a patients chart I found an instance of insurance fraud. We had told the patient we sold them something and he had personally only gave the patient part of it. I told him that was not legal that we need to give them a refund of services not given or give them the rest of what the paid for. He said I’m your boss, you have to do what I say and that’s final, if you want to work somewhere else, then find somewhere else. The next day he terminates my employment.

Other than reporting the violations to the insurance companies for these violations, what rights do I have, is there any federal office I can contact regarding wrongful termination. (I know Florida is a right to work state, but I didn’t think you could be fired for informing the employer they are doing something illegal and how it can be fixed legally..)

I just have no idea where/what I need to do.. should I look into finding a lawyer?
On the last day I was there Friday, I found numerous accounts of questionable billing to many different insurances companies.

As for money, he has none, which is why he’s doing what he’s doing imo. It’s a new office and he is still way deep in the red.
As for Job status I was Office Manager, I did everything but payroll and hire/firing of employees.

I scheduled patients, called patients, billed insurances, invoices, collected payments, etc, etc.

The reason I had this chart specifically is because he gave it to me because the patients medical insurance denied a visit that he billed on the basis we are out of network for there plan, only to find out that the patient didn’t even have this visit to begin with!

This is when I noticed he changed with a pen the invoice I made for the patient that showed a quantity of 6, that he changed to a 4 and claimed it was input incorrectly, when the original pricing I did for the patient had x6 (being qty 6).

I pay the child support. 0 every two weeks on a .25 an hour salary. I currently live in New Jersey and my two boys in Indiana. I have my 0 deducted automatically now. When I moved out here before it was "court ordered" I was paying 0 every two weeks, again not court ordered. Just sending.

I was able to have some of that counted towards support; However they want back child support. Approx in the amount of ,000.00. I’m getting ready to file my taxes and I was going to send my information to my x and file jointly or what not…

I was confused on how they wanted to do it, I’ve tried contacting my lawyer to get a run down, sounds they want me to send all my info to my x then to pay for filing that then to file here in New Jersey and then pay for that.

I’m tempted to just FILE here! period and then pay my x the ,000 owed and call it a day. Now my question is this…

Why can’t I claim one of the boys? there is two involved? both mine. I was told at anytime if you are behind on support you can not? so does that mean when I am caught up I can? and legally can they, if I’m caught up on support, claim both boys?

I thought it had to be shared?…

also I’m not given visitations, even though I played a major role in raising my boys. They are both very young; However I moved because of a job and happier circumstances…regardless of why the move. I’ve made attempts to go back to Indiana to visit and pay my support.

I feel the courts did an injustice to me and was unfair…

Can someone assist in this matter?

as of now the divorce is final and everything else is "final" I was told I can fight for a new judge/new attorney, etc and take it back to court. Must likely I will, of course; however between travel expenses, paying my attorney off, etc, etc…things are expensive.

I was also told to jump through more "hoops" that if I get a 2-3 bedroom and go visit in Indiana every 5-6 weeks I may have a better shot of getting some type of visitation, maybe a week or two and even that is crazy.

My x is making it to where I can only call my boys TWICE a week and a SET TIME???…when was this legal? and then when I made the call one eve they wanted to make small talk to me and tell me the boys were ASLEEP!

this is Monday, Thursdays and only at 7:30pm…

they don’t even have the kids half the time as they are going to other peoples homes. The argument, "I have to work…I work two jobs, etc, etc"…

some of that is complete BS & show…

I’m upset at how it has turned out. I’ve jumped through as many hoops as I could have from the start and nothing is working. I knew I should have packed the boys up and brought them to New Jersey with me but was afraid they could say "Oh that’s child endangerment" and then never have the kids, again…

who knows how people look at things.

it’s a frustrating matter.

me doing what I can and not getting what I deserve. I’m even willing to pay the support to the x but have the custody of the kids. All I want is the kids!

but I too feel they are making .00 an hour at one job, me .25 they get 0.00 every two weeks and they work a second job, making more an hour than I do at my ONE!…

so how can they claim both kids and claim this and that and get away with it?

it’s like fraud to me.

if anything it’s BS!…

again suggestions, answers would be helpful.
Okay. I see two responded. So let me clear this up, real quick. B/c this is why I didn’t put who I was male or female. You assume I’m male? right.

But let’s say the roles are reversed. Say I’m female and this has happened. So now how do you answer this question? …

Now do I become the bad person b/c I left my kids in a state where they are familiar with their home, family, etc…

is it okay for a man to just walk out but for there not to be an "excuse" for a woman?

Just thought I would add to this.

So would that statement be. Put the boot to him? or… injustice for MOTHERS too? it’s not just the fathers.

My ex has a green card, and got it in 2005.

He pays me 0/month without a court order, and we consider it child support.
He has a job that pays him enough so that instead of getting a refund, he has to pay in.

For his 2008 taxes, he claimed ,800 as alimony, even though we were NEVER married. He used my social security number and everything.
For 2009, he is going to claim over ,000 has sending me money (I dont know all the details yet, he just mentioned to me that I HAVE to do this (trying to manipulate me) )

I have been told if I don’t report him to the IRS, I will get in trouble to. So I will report him.

If I report him to the IRS for tax fraud.. how will affect me? Will I get in trouble?
No i didnt have anything to do with it, other than not reporting him sooner.

He used my social security number.

I did not claim it as alimony, nor am I claiming anything this year. I don’t want to be involved with his stuff

child support question?

My bf has a kid with his ex gf. We also have a 5 month old. Right now he is working and I am going to college. His ex is collecting child support (she spends it on ridiculous crap and barely spends any of it on the kid. He has already reported her for fraud). My fiance’s job that he recently got only lets him make enough to help provide for him, our son, and I. What I’d like to know is, is the child support division going to take all of his paychecks? Are they allowed to take all of his money? Or are they supposed to work with him some way and make the payments affordable to where he can have money left over to help out with this family as well?

If you used to have perfect credit but have made some late payments following a move, job loss, deaths in family or health care crisis, erroneous charges or other fraud on accounts, or other life-changing events, is there a credit card offering a good APR introductory rate who isn’t going to consider you "high risk" and take advantage of your current situation to change you from the best rate to the worst? Is there anything where your money does some good like "working assets" that hasn’t been swallowed up by B of A or MBNA? Does a credit score of about 650 mean you should be paying the worst APR rate?
