Is this Social Security fraud?

It’s sort of hard to explain.

I know a person who is 21. Who is Psychotic skitzofrantic. He was put on medication for it, but the medication gave him grand maul seizures. The seizures are why he is on social security.

He quit taking the medication, cause it was killing his brain from having a seizure a week, and the medication made him more mentally unstable.

He no longer has the seizures, but still has all types of skitzofrania.

Should he be reevaluated for his social security, and if he gets a fine for not reporting he is no longer having the grand mauls, won’t he just be paying the fine with Social Security money anyway, cause they can give him Social Security for his psychoness?
Leave him alone? He’s a friend of mine, and I don’t want him not reporting he no longer has seizures and have it come back on him.

I have a family member who works for a very large corporation. she is 47 years old and not close to retirement. she is looking to be able to "qualify" for medical disability so she can spend 6 months a year in a warm climate with her husband who is retired. she has been fabricating medical symptoms and even going as far as to use over the counter medication to cause these symptoms that would be visible to her doctors. she has been given a 3 month leave by her doctor right now and this doctor said if they cannot find the cause and/or treatment of this "pain" and other symptoms, they are going to file for full time medical disabiliy with her employer. what exactly is this type of fraud called, and what department of a large corporation could i contact to report it anonymously? (such as human resources maybe???)

The Norwegian Ministry of Health and Care Services is considering prosecuting and banning some Scientology practices, in particular the use of the Scientology personality test to sell courses. State Secretary Rigmor Aasrud said that the activities in question might be prosecuted as fraud or as violations of existing healthcare regulations. A Norwegian Member of Parliament (MP) whose daughter killed herself after taking such a test, supports the idea of prosecuting illegal practices rather than trying to ban the movement as a whole.

Matthias Fosse, spokesperson for the Church of Scientology in Norway, said that the Church of Scientology does not give medical advice, but that it encourages people to focus on the side effects of medications, and is critical of the "over-medication" of psychiatric patients.

I’ve worked in insurance & the medical field & the fraud that goes on is a huge cause of high ins costs. More should be done to crack down on the people & institutions committing the fraud.

In the hospital I worked at, during a surgery case you maybe used two strips of elastoplast to hold a dressing on. The patient is charged for the whole role. This was also the case with regular tape.

My friend had a C-section & had to pay it all for lack of ins. She went over the bill & got 0 taken off it. They had charged her for a certain medication 3 x a day & she only took 2 pills. They charged her for sitz baths for her episiotomy, which she never had because she had a c-section. She found a few other discrepancies also. If you don’t see your bill, your ins co may be being charged for things you didn’t even receive.

People who milk dbl and workers comp claims are ridiculous. They don’t show up for exams causing more paperwork, etc., all costing money.

Credit Card Fraud and Mental Health?

A close freind of mine is being prosecuted for Credit Card Fraud/Identity theft and has a court hearing next week. She also is bipolar. Her lawyer wants a certificate of diagnosis from her mental health provider….do you think her mental circumstances will help her case? I guess she was off her meds at the time cause she couldnt work due to the bipolar and side effects of her medication.
No she acted alone…the arguement is that she wasnt in her right mind when the act was committed.

Should I turn in my co-worker for welfare fraud?

Here is her situation. She has been living with the babydaddy since before there even WAS a baby, but she tells the welfare office that she doesn’t know who the father is so that she can get all kinds of free stuff, like WIC and medicaid. If they knew he was the father, they would make him pay child support and put the little girl on his insurance, thus cutting into their budget which allows them to take annual vacations and go out to eat to places like Red Lobster "all the time" and maintain their swimming pool. In other words, they aren’t hurting for money. It’s not like turning them in would put them on the street or something. And apparently the welfare office isn’t too bright, since she admits to living with him and gave the baby his last name, but claims he isn’t the father!

The reason this bothers me so much is that recently the state has cut out programs for seniors and the mentally ill because of budget cuts. The budget is short, in part, because of welfare fraud. They recently shut down the county-run nursing home, leaving dozens of seniors homeless, and they’ve cut programs to help the mentally ill get their medication. These people have no control over their situation, while my co-worker does. And now she’s talking about how bad she wants another baby, which will mean more fraud!

So, the question is, do I obey the law or do I mind my own business? I really like this girl and I hate to screw up her life, but it’s also not fair that people in worse situations are being screwed over because of people like her. What should I do?

My ex never agreed in writing to help with college but he had said he would. Through the years I never pushed for all the child support I could get because I thought he would help with college. He paid her room deposit, took her to register and then the very next day said he couldn't pay that much and asked if she could go to a cheaper school. She found a cheaper school and then the night before graduation he backed out of all help. He paid his last child support in June and that has been it. He knows she takes monthly medication and he will not help with those expenses either. She has now chose a community college and is working to pay her rent, etc. The worst part is he sent his two step kids out of state to a private Christian college and paid for their cars, cell phones, laptops, etc. But his own he will not help with. Since it was understood all along that he was going to help and now he backed out, can I take him back to court for some type of fraud or something?
Even though she is working, according to all the government, I am responsible for her college until she is 24 or married. For that reason she is not able to file on her own next year with her income to get extra help.
Many of you have pointed out that 18 is an adult. However, my point in all of this is that he put his step children through an out of state private college and provided all they needed. I realize that at some point they have to be adults BUT the government will not let us do that. She is working, has her own place, etc. but the government will still not consider her on her own. I am angry because he stands up in church and professes to be a Christian, works in the church but he and wife are doing all they can to turn their backs on his first marriage. This is wrong. This is a man that would not even give his daughter 100 towards a security deposit for her apartment. He would not even help her get simple house-hold items to get started. She has done NOTHING to them. In fact, she has went over-board in being nice to all of them to get along. Even when she was excluded from trips to the beach each summer. If a child is college material, the parent should make an effort to help.
One more thing, this is also a man who got over 0,000 a few years back in a settlement plus he makes + a year and that does not include the income from his wife.
Yes, the government does make them adults at 18 BUT to apply for any loan, they have to start with the one from the government. It does not matter if they are even 21 years old, living on their own, working, etc. They have to include my income (if any) and my husband's income until they are 24 or married. Even though my husband is the stepfather we have to give them our income for them to use in determining any grants, etc., before they other things kick in. I think that it is awful that a man has to have a court order to do anything for his daughter. I know that is current wife is behind it and I think it is awful that he can not be man enough to stand up to her and say that she is his daughter and deserves his help the same as the stepkids. Yes, I tried to stay out of the courts because I thought this man was actually honest in what he said through the years but I was wrong. As for his stepkids, they have grown into rude adults – I should have taken him for every cent.
Sorry – forgot. Yes, I do live in the United States.

I Need Help from a licensed Professional?

This is bad, real bad for me I really need some advice from someone who is a medical professional in the area of pharmacy or dispensing of medications. I suffer from AADD and narcolepsy along with disassociates disorder (multiple personalities). I must take a rather high dose of Adderall each day in order to remain functional. I have been on this drug for almost ten years and in that time my dosage has been gradually increased to what it is now. Before Adderall,it was Dexedrine and I was on a very high dose of that also. All along in these many years my health insurance paid for my medication,no problem.Recently however, they are threatening my doctor with legal action if he doesn’t stop prescribing this medication for me.They have accused him of over prescribing and malpractice. They also said they were going to investigate him and have his licence to practice medicine revoked. They came just short of accusing him and ME of insurance fraud.

There is a woman I have known for about 8 years now.She is claiming disabilty, and fakes it up real good for everyone, including the doctors. In reality, there is nothing wrong with her (except an obvious mental problem). She is scamming the social services,as well as medicare and any other agency she can get help from. She is very obese and doesnt work, and even has an aide that comes to give her a shower. She is capable of doing everything herself, and its a real joke with her friends and family. She makes its seem like she is pulling one over on the social system to everyone around her.It just makes me sick, because she is taking away some rehabilation services that someone who really needs them could be using. She also sells her medication, the ones that she doesnt get stoned off of for several days at a time. Its just sick. Her mother aides her, because she also likes the drugs, and the sick attention they get.The list of sick things they are doing goes on and on. I am in the Phoenix area.
