To make a long story short…an acquaintance of mine told me that she filed her taxes as single and head of household…except she is married! She told me that she did the same last year also. She even wanted me to prepare her husbands taxes, and that he was claiming single also. I am totally disgusted by this bc this is cheating the government….and I am not a supporter of fraud. The whole reason she did this was bc if she filed married with her husband their whole tax refund would’ve been taken for back child support he owes for another child. I kinda want to report them, but dnt have any of their personal info such as SS#’s, ect….what are my opions as an honest taxpayer?? Is there anything I can do? I just dnt agree with this at all….
Yes these two are indeed married…it’s not up for debate…they ARE married. Im an honest taxayer for all the haters who responded…why should I agree with this??? It doesnt mean Im all for the govt…I just hate liers and fraudulant people who live off the government and then they want to lie to the govt when the govt pays their bills???? Maybe those who called me a rat may want to think about theirselves crawling into the sewer..LOL

These individual(s) constantly send emails or IMs requesting personal info. They use Yahoo, Microsoft etc as endorsers or even the actual company itself. I know better and it is annoying but it must still work because they keep trying. What can I do to assist in the apprehension of these terrible low lifes? I want to report them to proactive individuals.

After relocating, I have been conducting a job search in this area and constantly think I am signing up for a job search and it ends up being a phoney offer for online schools, scams and others to get my personal info. Doesn’t any authority regulate what goes on? Geez!

My boss is very picky about shredding his junk mail because he says things like credit card offers, etc. have his personal info on them and people could steal his identity. The thing is, whenever I respond to a credit card offer (for myself), I still have to give them all my pertinent info. SO, unless you have all that info, how can you steal someone’s identity through a piece of junk mail? Or am I right and he’s just paranoid?

I was contacted by a company insisting I register for their medical program. They claimed it was a mandatory part of medicare and had some general personal info.about me. They also insisted I give them my banking info. When I refused he became very aggitated and again insisted that participation and registration were mandatory. My web search for the National Medical Office came up empty.
