what do i do if i am harrassed and publicly humilited by a govt entity accousing me of welfare fraud?
They are harrassing me and my family, publicly humilitating & embrassing my family – accoused me of fraud-stating I
falsifed my applicaton by not disclosing I had several vehicles
I did not know they were still titled in my name, Most are either
junked or do not run and are 15 yrs. or older- They have not been registered, and are worth less than 2000. They have asked personal information about us from my neighbors, tresspassed, etc. We have been in contact with our senator.
We have had a very difficult time, I have only been able to work part time since I was laid off. I have sold my jewelry, furniture and even clothes. i have done everything to prevent my children who are 8 and 4 from suffering. I love them so much, and I keep going on for them. My daughter even had a classmate come up to her and say "your’e poor,
your on welfare. i have worked for 20 years of my life. No-one in my family’s history has ever had to go one assistance – i HAD to, and i’m paying for it

I would talk to someone at your local Legal Aid or Law Clinic and see if they can assist you.
The government not only has the right, but the responsibilty to check up on welfare recipients on behalf of the constituents. If you aren’t using the cars, they should have been donated, or sold for scraps.
As to the tresspassing, you need to check regulations, but by filling out the paperwork for welfare, you may have agreed to "unscheduled home visits" which are different from trespassing. As to the personal information, you would have to give more information.
Yes, signing up for welfare opens you up, but think of the people you know who are on welfare, and are cheating the system. There are tons of them. If you are not one of them then that is great and keep up the good work. But you know that there is still plenty out there who will do anything they can to keep from working and get government assistance so they can spend their money on cigarettes and booze while their kids live from school lunch to school lunch.
Get a public defender. Yahoo answers can’t help you.
Get rid of all old vehicles. Many people have the same problem.
Unfortunately your biggest problem is that ignorance is not an excuse when it comes to violating the law. The government views it as your responsibility to keep track of your property. If you owned several vehicles it was your responsibility to ensure that your name was removed from the title when you junked them. For those that are not junked, their condition is irrelevent. It doesn’t matter if they run or how old they are. If you were asked to disclose vehicular ownership you were obligated to list ALL the vehicles you own, and your responsibility to ensure the answer you gave was correct. From the way you talk about most of your vehicles you imply that we’re talking about more than one or two which would be difficult to forget.
Since you did in fact own the vehicles they are not harrassing you by doing they’re job. If they’re asking for money back or action on your part that’s what they’re there for.
As to the public humiliation, I would need more details as to what they’re doing to publicly humiliate you. Until I know more I can’t comment.
